Stunning Thermal and Maori Cultural Tour
Living amidst geothermal activity, hot thermal springs and bubbling mud pools is the living Maori village of Whakarewarewa. Relive the history of the Tuhourangi Ngati Wahiao people, who have been hosting people from all over the world since the mid 1800’s.
Taking a guided tour you will see and experience the warmth and hospitality of the people, view the erupting geysers, boiling mud pools and see them cooking in natural steam. You will also see and participate in one of the worlds’ renowned cultural performances, including the Haka.
Also included on this tour is Kiwi 360, where you get to taste kiwifruit wine and nectar, learn about this amazing fruit and shop for souvenirs. You will also tour Rotoruas magnificent Government gardens, lunch by the lake and see the 100yr old redwood forest. We will travel home by a different route, through farmland and Native Bush, then via Tauranga town and back to the boat.
Pick-up and Drop-off is Tauranga: if on a cruise ship then at the port gates, elsewhere by arrangement. This tour is approximately 5 hrs, and all costs are included except lunch.
